Mediatek MTK MT6577 chipset status

I'd like to know whether the Mediatek / MTK MT6577 (Cortex-A9 / ARMv7 clone 40 nm 1.2 GHz dual-core) chipset is supported.
I have not downloaded the source files yet and I'd like to learn the status before doing so.

There is no particular support for that chip in Replicant, as we currently don't support any device with that chipset.
