Using Replicant with Android Open Source
Added by Steve Reddish over 10 years ago
Hi Paul & Team,
I am starting to work on building android for the i9300 device, and was wondering how well replicant sources like the device tree, kernel and hardware would work with the rest of the android code base?
There is a clear answer of suck it and see, but I was wondering if it is a fools errand, before I invest time. I am currently busy learning and trying to bring 5.0 onto the phone.
regards
Steve

I don't understand what you are talking about in particular nor what you are asking. Also, are you talking about device tree as in what is used in the mainline Linux kernel?

I don't see what you are referring to either.

I'm pretty sure many people are doing that already, you should check out XDA, CyanogenMod and Omni.
