Running in an ARM emulator

Some people believe that it is wiser to do web browsing that is at all risky in a VM.
It occurs to me that rather than doing that by emulating Windows or Linux in VirtualBox, one could also consider running Replicant in an ARM emulator.
Perhaps this would be quicker to start up at least. I'm not sure that anything Android-derived would be safer than TAILS though.
Nevertheless has anyone here tried this?
