Keyboard disappearance when unlocking

Added by Fil Lupin almost 10 years ago

Hi there,
here is my recent issue.

Context :
- Replicant installed 11 days ago on a Galaxy S3
- Settings/Security/Screen lock set to "Password"

Issue :
- After a few days without rebooting, I can not unlock screen once locked.
- When I try to enter my password, no keyboard appears. Or sometimes, it appears for an instant and disappeared just after typing the first letter, it even seems this first letter is not taken into account.
- Selecting "Emergency call" allow me to use emergency dialer and type a number.

Solution :
- It is not really a long-term solution, but rebooting the phone seems to solve the issue.
- It seems to me it is not a screen issue because emergency call works and I have not this issue once rebooting.

Ideas :
- It seems there is a counter which blocks the keyboard after a few locking, I will try to count the times it locks...

Does anyone had this issue ?

I never had this kind of issue on my Galaxy S2 - but I'm using Settings/Security/Screen lock -> "PIN", not "Password".

Have you ever tried an alternative keyboard, (for a few days)? I would recommend Hacker's Keyboard (for example):

If you like to give it a try, there could be a chance to "workaround" your issue...
