Issue #1940
closed
Have 'Replicant version' under 'About phone' say Replicant 6.0 0004 for next release
Added by Kurtis Hanna almost 6 years ago.
Updated over 4 years ago.
Description
Currently, the only way to determine whether one is using Replicant 0003 instead of 0002 is by looking at the Build date. This isn't intuitive and makes it hard for users to determine if they have the most recent stable release. We should fix this for our 0004 release.
- Assignee changed from Andrés D to Joonas Kylmälä
- Blocks Issue #1960: Build release candidate image for 6.0 0004 added
In addition to bumping the version string I have added now the following to the change log:
### Replicant 6.0 0004 images
Common:
* Security updates until August 2018
* Per app renderer selection
* Fix privacy issue with phone number lookup function in Dialer app
When the change log will be fully known by the end of the week I will submit the patch.
- % Done changed from 0 to 90
- Status changed from New to Feedback
We have been updating a fair number of last minute things for 0004 so we should likely review and update the change log on this patch before pushing it. The change log currently includes the following:
Common:
Security updates until August 2018
Per app renderer selection
Fix privacy issue with phone number lookup functionality in the Dialer app
Wi-Fi integrated to system settings, replaces RepWifi
F-Droid removed because it was not compliant with FSDG
Experimental support for USB ethernet adapters
- Blocks deleted (Issue #1960: Build release candidate image for 6.0 0004)
- Status changed from Feedback to Resolved
- Resolution set to fixed
We can close that bug as it is now documented as part of the release procedure in the vendor/replicant-release-scripts repository.
