I've tried forkbomb's midas-2020.01 branch, as boot.img on the GT-I9300.

However it fails during relocation. I've also uploaded the code and log in the forkbomb-midas-2020.01-as-boot-img branch

I noticed that now there is a more recently updated branch of forkbomb's u-boot here: https://github.com/fourkbomb/u-boot/tree/wip/cleanup

GNUtoo reported on IRC that he "got the UART working when loading u-boot as boot.img but it hanged after that".
