Issue #2272
closedAdd Trisquel support to debootstrap

Updated by Denis 'GNUtoo' Carikli over 3 years ago
We use Trisquel to build Replicant. And I've managed to build Replicant 6.0 with Trisquel 9.0, so once they'll be merged (and if no blocking issue is found) we will be able to build all the Replicant versions with Trisquel.
As not everybody uses Trisquel, it's better to add Trisquel support in debootstrap upstream in the long run.
In the meantime, probably very few distributions can debootstrap Trisquel. Parabola can, but for instance Guix and PureOS probably can't.
The merge request for upstream is here: https://salsa.debian.org/installer-team/debootstrap/-/merge_requests/60

We now have Trisquel and even PureOS support in debootstrap and both Parabola and Guix support that out of the box (they also need keyring packages).
See https://libreplanet.org/wiki/Group:Software/FSDG_distributions/CrossDistroBootstrap for more details about the current status of this support and how many distributions an use that out of the box.
