GTA04 Build

This explains how to build Replicant for the GTA04.

Prerequisites

Before building, you must make sure:

Warning

Do not build as root, always build as user.

Building Replicant 4.0

Setup the build environment:

source build/envsetup.sh
lunch replicant_gta04-eng
export ANDROID_JAVA_HOME=$JAVA_HOME

Start the build:

parallel_tasks=$(echo "$(grep 'processor' /proc/cpuinfo | wc -l ) + 1" | bc)
make -j$parallel_tasks bootimage
make -j$parallel_tasks bootloaderimage
make -j$parallel_tasks systemtarball

Building Replicant 2.3

Setup the build environment:

source build/envsetup.sh
lunch replicant_gta04-eng
export ANDROID_JAVA_HOME=$JAVA_HOME

Start the build:

Building for µSD card storage

parallel_tasks=$(echo "$(grep 'processor' /proc/cpuinfo | wc -l ) + 1" | bc)
make -j$parallel_tasks bootimage BOARD_SDCARD_INIT:=true
make -j$parallel_tasks bootloaderimage
make -j$parallel_tasks systemtarball

Building for NAND storage

parallel_tasks=$(echo "$(grep 'processor' /proc/cpuinfo | wc -l ) + 1" | bc)
make -j$parallel_tasks bootimage
make -j$parallel_tasks bootloaderimage
make -j$parallel_tasks systemimage
make -j$parallel_tasks userdataimage

The -jn argument is to indicate the number of parallel tasks during the build.
You can remove it from the command line to have only one task at a time. With fast hardware, best results will come with -j9, -j16 and -j32.
