Tasks¶

Here is a list of the tasks that need to be done in order to improve Replicant:

Common tasks¶

Missing features¶

• Make software video decoding work in Replicant 4.2
• Add support for more video software-decoding codecs, such as Theora
• Improve the generic Android EGL implementation so that it implements all the currently missing features (see issue #705)
• Write a modern Gallery application that doesn't rely on missing OpenGL features
• Make the embedded video player in the browser work (or make it switch to fullscreen when playback starts)

Improvements¶

• Clean the ReplicantWallpapers code and use modern Trebuchet-like wallpaper selector
• Improve various aspects of Samsung-RIL (add support for missing features and/or correct bugs)

Security¶

• Fix the Webview vulnerability in Replicant 4.2

Tools¶

• Make it easy to build and release a Replicant Development Tools package (equivalent to ADT) from the Replicant source code
• Make it easy to build and release a Replicant NDK from the Replicant source code
